Common conditions we treat
Sinus and nasal problems are among the most common reasons people visit an ENT specialist. What often gets dismissed as "just a cold" or "seasonal allergies" can be a structural or chronic issue that responds well to targeted treatment.
Sinusitis (acute & chronic) Facial pressure, headache, thick nasal discharge, or a cold that won't go away after 10 days. We distinguish between viral, bacterial, and fungal sinusitis — each has a different treatment path. Chronic sinusitis (lasting 12+ weeks) often has underlying causes like polyps, a narrow drainage pathway, or untreated allergies that need to be addressed, not just medicated.
Nasal congestion & breathing difficulty Persistent one-sided or both-sided blockage that doesn't respond to over-the-counter sprays. Causes range from a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates to polyps or allergic swelling. We identify what's causing the obstruction so treatment targets the actual problem.
Deviated septum A crooked nasal septum can cause one-sided blockage, snoring, repeated sinus infections, or nosebleeds. Not every deviated septum needs surgery — we assess severity, symptom impact, and whether medical management is a reasonable first step.
Nosebleeds (epistaxis) Occasional nosebleeds are common and usually harmless. But frequent, heavy, or hard-to-stop bleeding — especially in adults — warrants investigation. Causes include dryness, blood thinners, high blood pressure, or less commonly, growths in the nasal cavity.

How we diagnose nasal & sinus conditions
A proper sinus evaluation goes beyond a quick look with a light. In your consultation, you can expect:
Detailed history — duration of symptoms, triggers, previous treatments tried, any connection to seasons or environments.
Nasal endoscopy — a thin, flexible scope that gives a magnified view inside the nasal passages and sinus drainage pathways. Comfortable and done in-clinic.
Allergy correlation — many chronic sinus problems are driven by untreated allergies. We assess whether allergy testing or management should be part of the plan.
Imaging (if indicated) — a CT scan of the sinuses when symptoms are chronic, recurrent, or don't respond to initial treatment. We explain exactly what we're looking for before ordering.
If your condition involves allergies as a contributing factor, we coordinate that within our practice — Dr. Reddy specializes in both ENT and allergy management.
Process Overview
What to expect from treatment
Dr. Prathiba Reddy's approach is to treat conservatively first and escalate only when necessary. For most nasal and sinus conditions, that means:
Medical management first Saline irrigation, nasal steroid sprays, targeted antibiotics when bacterial infection is confirmed, or allergy treatment when that's the underlying driver.
In-clinic procedures when needed Cauterization for recurrent nosebleeds, turbinate reduction, or nasal polyp assessment — done in-clinic with minimal downtime.
Surgical intervention only for cases that genuinely need it Septoplasty, functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), or polyp removal. Always with a clear explanation of why, what it involves, expected recovery, and what the non-surgical alternatives are.
Follow-up planning Most sinus conditions benefit from a follow-up at 2–4 weeks to assess response. Chronic sinusitis patients may need a longer management plan.
